Joshua Thompson

September 9, 1979 — July 7, 2009

Centerville-Our beloved Josh, 29, returned to his Heavenly Father peacefully and unexpectedly on July 7, 2009. We will all miss his warm and gentle spirit his constant smile, and his appreciation for everything. Josh loved life! Josh was born September 9, 1979 to Kip Thompson and Lavada Waldhouse Hook. He grew up loving to be around his cousins and family, and was especially close to his Grandma Marge, who is now welcoming him back home. He attended school at Hillcrest and Alta High. Graduating from Alta in 1998. He went on to attend Utah State, where his love for Utah State was secured. He loved football, basketball, and baseball, excelling in all of them. An avid Jazz and Utah State Aggie fan, he never missed an opportunity to attend an Aggie Football or Basketball game. The Thompson Family Turkey Bowl was his favorite time of the year. Josh prepared weeks before, just so the family would have a good laugh at all of his gear. Josh loved to coach his little league teams, especially the Cottonwood Colts Mighty Mites championship team. He loved each and every member of this team…he really did! Josh loved his Dad, Kip. They had a healthy and well founded bond that all could feel. They were best of friends. His Dad will miss his daily calls, texts, and updates. Their love is eternal, and our hearts go out to Kip. What a great Dad! Josh adored his sisters and constantly teased them. They had to hug him, or he wouldn’t leave them be. His dog Bailey, who was with him when he passed on, will be a comfort and a link to those left behind. Josh was the kind of guy you wanted to be with and could always count on. He never missed an opportunity to tell you he loved you and believed in you. Josh loved being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was looking forward to going to the Temple, and the blessing that awaited him. He is survived by his parents Kip (Paige) Thompson, and Lavada (John) Hook; Grandparents Phyllis and Gordon Waldhouse; Sisters Kristy, Kyra, Jorie, Erin Thompson, and Natascha Rogers; his nephews Timmy and Michael; and many loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins too numerous to name. He is preceded in death by Grandparents Clark O. and Marjorie Watts Thompson; Aunt Diane Waldhouse. Services will be held Tuesday July 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at the LDS Porter Lane 3rd Ward at 400 S. 435 W Centerville, UT. A viewing will be held Monday July 13, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Rudd Funeral Home 1234 S. Main Garland UT, and Tuesday July 14 at the LDS Porter Lane Church from 9:30-10:30.
