Karen Misrasi , 52, died Saturday September 4, 2010, in Garland Utah. She was born December 1, 1957 in Logan, Utah. Daughter of George (Diona) Perry, and Elaine (Carter) Rich. Karen was the second of four children. She grew up in Tremonton, Utah and graduated from Bear River High School. She married her high school sweetheart, David Misrasi, on December 3rd 1978 in Tremonton, and moved to Garland, Utah. They had three children, Carli, Bret, and Josh. Karen spent the remainder of her life in the home that she loved in Garland, UT. Karen loved this valley and her sweet smile and loving nature touched many lives. Karen worked at Thiokol for 6 years after high school and then at Farmers Grain in Garland. She later ran her own beauty shop out of her home for many years. She assisted her husband in their family business, Misrasi Concrete. Wherever Karen went she made friends easily. Karen loved her family and not only did she raise her 3 children with love but she helped raise her nieces and nephews and several other wayward children in the valley. Everyone knew that Aunt Karen’s home was a refuge. She was completely accepting of everyone. She had a ready smile and a heart for service. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in which she served as enrichment night leader, primary teacher, and in the young women’s organization. Karen is survived by her husband, David Bret Misrasi, and their three children; Carli (Tyler) Jones, Bret Joseph Misrasi, and Joshua David Misrasi; two grandchildren, Avrie Victoria Jones, Madix James Jones; her brothers Kent (Pauline) Perry, Lynn (Kari) Perry, Lyle (Marcy) Perry; step brother Roger Rich(Susy), step sister Nancy (Clark) Weidman. Also survived by her parents, David’s parents, Pete and Betty Misrasi, and David’s siblings, Richard, Brian, Tyler, and Cyndi Stanger. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 am at the Garland Tabernacle, 140 West Factory Street, Garland, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening 6 to 8 pm at the Garland Tabernacle and Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 am.
