Kathleen Laverne Kile Burd, age 81, peacefully passed away on December 17, 2024, in Providence, Utah. Born on October 16, 1943, in Valdosta, Georgia, she was the daughter of Gerald Stephen Kile and Laverne Marie Pangonis. On September 9, 1989, Kathleen married Ernest Luzern Burd, Jr. in Vacaville, California, sharing many cherished memories until his passing on December 18, 2019.
Throughout her life, Kathleen lived in various places including Georgia, Texas, Tripoli, Libya, and California. She attended Vacaville High School and graduated in 1961. Kathleen was known for her dedication in the restaurant industry, working for many years at Nut Tree and Coffee Tree restaurants, and later managing Lyon's Restaurant and Denny’s.
Kathleen had a passion for travel, often exploring new destinations with her husband and their beloved dogs in their RV. Their journeys took them to wonderful places including Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, and California.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Angela Martinez, Lisa (Chuck) Armenta, and Camille (Matt) Vierra; her brothers, Tom (Theresa) Kile, George (Trish) Kile, and Phillip (Jonnie) Kile; as well as her grandchildren: Kile, Cody, Autumn, Keenan, Anna Catherine, Brittany, Courtney, Gregory, Camille, Jace, Ally, Seth, Nathan, and Nicholas; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Kathleen will be laid to rest in the Spring of 2025 at the Sacramento National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
