Howell, UT – Kathleen H. Rushton, 68, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011 at Ogden Regional Hospital. She was born April 7, 1942 in Brigham City, UT to Orsen and Mary Hyden. She graduated from Bear River High School and attended Hollywood Beauty College. She married Ronald Rushton in Brigham City, Utah on February 19, 1965. They later solemnized their marriage in the Logan Temple on February 19, 1968. Kathleen worked at American Sports Wear in Brigham City and Greyhound Food at Thiokol. She thoroughly enjoyed doing hair on the side for her family and friends. The relationships that she built throughout the years will last forever. She was a talented cook. She had the ability to read a recipe and make her own creation from it and it always turned out better than the original. She was a very giving person; service oriented, she loved taking meals to people. There is not a soul in the valley that has not been the beneficiary of a meal from her kitchen. At harvest time she would take homemade ice cream to the field for all the men to enjoy. She planted a beautiful garden and enjoyed her flowers. In her spare time she loved yard sales, we would call her the yard sale queen. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She served in the relief society as compassionate service leader and cannery specialist. She served as a primary teacher in the primary organization. She was a dedicated visiting teacher. Surviving are her husband Ronald, children: Dennis (Sherry) Rushton, Ronda (Matt) Beecher, Ryan (Toshina) Rushton; eight grandchildren: Jori, Braxden, Chance, Trevor, Korina, Justin, Alia, and Eliza; and five sisters: Ella Lloyd, Lois (Lyle) Nessen, Rane (Lamont) Nessen, Helen (Joe) Noble and Larean Mathis. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Orson, sister, Joyce and three brothers-in-law, Curley Lloyd, Carman Wood and Milton Mecham. Services will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Howell Ward Chapel, 16035 North 17400 West, Howell. Viewings will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rudd Funeral Home, 1234 South Main, Garland and Friday, April 1, 2011 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
