Keith Russell Fridal was born in the family home in Elwood, Utah on September 30, 1924 to Walter Ephraim and Ada Elvira Hansen Fridal. He passed away peacefully in Tremonton, Utah on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Keith attended Elwood Elementary School and Bear River High School. He is a veteran of World War II, having served two years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Granville in the South Pacific. He married Wilma Evans on March 16, 1949 in the Logan LDS Temple. He lived his entire life in Elwood while farming the family farms in Elwood, Pocatello Valley and Rockland Idaho. He was an active member of the Elwood Ward of the LDS Church having served in the Sunday school, Young Men, Scouting and as the Executive Secretary to the Bishopric. He also served 30 years as a ballroom dance instructor and operated a ballroom dance studio in Logan, Utah. Keith was a member of the Beaver Mountain Ski Patrol, a member of the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Scuba Team and served one term on the Elwood Town Board. He enjoyed family get togethers, music, dancing, working in his yard, reading, traveling and going on long rides. He especially enjoyed the reunions he attended each year with his shipmates from the U.S.S. Granville. Keith is survived by his wife, Wilma, and his four children, Ron Fridal, Ogden; Del (Deborah) Fridal, Kamas; Debra (Ed) Quinn, Garland; Melanie (Jon) Miller, Tremonton; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a Sister-in-law Sherma Fridal, Tremonton. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jay; baby Sister, Annie Laree; two Brothers, Walter and Norwood and his wife Genevieve Fridal; his Sister Lydia and her Husband Robert Harper. The family would like to thank all of the hospice and care center nurses for the loving care of their father. A viewing will be held for friends and family to attend Thursday May 26, 2011 at Rudd Funeral Home, 1234 S. Main, Garland, UT from 6-8 pm. A viewing will also be held at 10 am on May 27, 2011 at the Elwood LDS Chapel, 4865 W. 9600 N., Elwood, UT. Funeral services will follow the viewing at 11 am and internment will be at the Bear River City Cemetery where military honors will be provided.
