Kelly Shawn Christensen, 48, of Tremonton, UT passed away unexpectedly July 17, 2012. Kelly was born on January 10, 1964 in Logan, Utah to Gaylen & Mary Garfield Christensen. He grew up in Tremonton and graduated from Bear River High in 1982. While in school Kelly was an excellent student and athlete, garnering All-State honors in both basketball and golf. Kelly married Dawn Cornwall in the fall of 1982. Together they raised 3 children, they later divorced. In 2004 Kelly married Sallie Harris. Our Dad was a very talented, hardworking, and loving person. He loved his children and grandchildren very much, and was quick to express that love through hugs and kisses. Dad had a love for athletics, especially basketball and golf. He enjoyed watching and coaching his sons. He was a lifelong fan of Bear River High School sports and he could be seen at many sporting events. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in numerous callings throughout his life. Dad had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dad spoke often of his love and respect for his own father and mother, growing up and working on the family farm, his 20 plus years of service with ATK Thiokol, and the thought of coaching his grandsons in the future. We will be forever grateful for his love and support. He leaves behind his 3 children: Cortney (Elizabeth) Christensen, Brandon (Morgan) Christensen, and Breanne Christensen, 4 grandchildren: Cutler, Jacee, Kamas, and Maylee, his wife, Sallie Christensen and 3 step-children: Mercedes (Nick) White, Carson Harris and Alexis Harris, his mother Mary Christensen, and his siblings: Craig (Robyn) Christensen, Shari (Mark) Scott, GayLynn (Dave) Eliason, Debbie (Kerry) Zundel, Becky Wood, Kevin (Alma) Christensen, Krisanne (Craig) Veibell, and Marci Smith. He was preceded in death by his father Gaylen Christensen. Funeral services for Kelly will be held Monday July 23, 2012 at 11 am in the Tremonton LDS Stake Center (660 N. 300 E.) There will be a viewing at the church Sunday from 6 to 8 pm. There will also be a viewing held Monday prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
