Kent Perry

September 23, 1956 — March 15, 2015

Kent passed away unexpectedly March 15, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah.   Kent was born in Logan, Utah, but was raised and spent most of his life in Tremonton, Utah.  He spent a lot of his youth on the family farm in Holbrook, Idaho and graduated from Bear River High.  He started Wheatland Seed in 1977 selling organic flour and grain at the beginning of the organic movement in the country.  The company also sold seed grain to farmers and helped introduce many alternative crops in the area.  Kent loved working with the farmers in the area and considered many to be some of his closest friends.  In 1997 he formed a group to buy Central Milling in Logan, Utah, and helped turn a 130 year old small flour mill into the largest organic flour milling company in the United States.

Kent had a joy and a passion for life like few others.  He had a way of instilling that passion in who ever he met.  Kent could meet someone for the first time and within a few minutes they seemed like old friends, he had a way of seeing and bringing out the best in everyone.

He is survived by his mother, Elaine (Perry) Rich; stepfather, Carter Rich; stepmother, Diona Perry; Brothers, Lynn (Kari) Perry, Lyle (Carrie) Perry; Brother-in-law, David Misrasi; stepbrothers, Roger (Susie) Rich, Justin Norman; Stepsisters, Nancy (Clark) Weidman, Angel Ringstad, Dallene Bracken; Sons, Jason, Charlie and Jake Perry; Wife, Pauline Perry; stepsons, Derek and Brad Collins; grandson, Christian Perry, and adopted brother, Keith Giusto.  Preceded in death by Father, George Perry; Sister, Karen Misrasi; Daughter, Angela Perry; and Uncle, Merrill Perry.

Funeral Services for Kent will be held Friday, March 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton LDS Stake Center (660 N. 300 E.). Viewings will be held Thursday, March 19th from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E. – Tremonton, UT) and on Friday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the church, prior to the funeral.
