Khom Ros, age 59 of Garland, Utah, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in her home surrounded by close family. She was born to the late Ros Knoy & Chum Chea on May 10, 1959.
Born in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia, Khom moved to a refugee camp in Thailand where she met her husband Vieth Kov. They married on November 30, 1981 and welcomed their first born son Savoeun. In 1985 her family moved to Los Angeles, California where they resided for 13 years and had 2 more children, daughter Savai and youngest son Worthy. In 1998 Khom and her family relocated to Utah for a better life and opportunities for their family.
A loving mother and homemaker, Khom was a remarkable cook, was especially known for her famous sesame seed balls. On her free time she and her husband enjoyed fishing and taking short trips to the casino. In the Summer time you could always find her working in her garden where she grew different vegetables such as; garlic, chili peppers, green onions, and anything she could grow. She was a mother of her own children, but for many years has also cared for other children. Extended family, nieces and nephews were always in the household and welcome those who visited.
Khom is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Vieth, her children Savoeun, Savai, and Worthy, as well as her daughter in law Melanie and son in law Nara. The family wishes to thank all those who have continued to provided their prayers, condolences, and help during this time.
The viewing will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N 100 E) from 1-3 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m.
