LaJuana Pulver

Loving Mother and Grandmother, LaJuana Jean S. Pulver, 93, passed away to be reunited with her loving husband and best friend on January 9, 2019 at her home in Fielding, Utah, of causes incident to age.

LaJuana was born on January 8, 1926 in Fielding, Utah to Franklin Arvin Smith and Mildred Sena Jensen Smith. She was the second of seven children. LaJuana spent her early years on a farm east of Fielding where her family raised turkeys. They spent time there and to their home in Fielding. She learned as a small child to work hard. This was an attribute she kept for the rest of her life.

She met the love of her life when she was a senior in high school. She went with friends to a dance in Logan at the Dansante. Many World War II soldiers were there, and one asked her to dance. He became the love of her life and they were married on June 7, 1944 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where Charles was stationed in the Air Force. As time went by, they settled in Fielding and helped her father with the turkey farm. They raised four children along the way.

Mom was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was very smart, artistic and creative. She loved to create beautiful flower gardens and decorate her home. She loved her family so much. Everything she did centered around their needs. She loved to cook and loved to have family there to feed. Her homemade candy was the best ever, along with many other yummy things. During the holidays, she created a magical home with lights, good food, and decorations galore. We called her the Christmas Queen, and we will never forget her Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years dinners.

Many years of her life she was a seamstress and did sewing for many people around the valley, including: wedding dresses and wedding lines, drill team and cheerleader uniforms, parades, prom dresses, etc. You name it, she could sew it.

She and dad loved to garden, camp, remodel their home, and in general, just be together. Mom will be missed by many, but her life was never the same when dad passed.  We know they are together again, and this knowledge gives us peace.

LaJuana is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held various callings. LaJuana and Charles solemnized their marriage in the Logan Temple on April 3, 1964. LaJuana is survived by her children: Geniel Pulver of Sandy, Charlie Pulver of Sandy, Paul (Jayne) Pulver of Tremonton, and Michelle (Guy) Ballard of Fielding; 16 grandchildren; and 39 great grandchildren. Also, siblings, Iva Lou Kiesel of Riverside, California, Terry (Judy) Smith of Fielding, Sherrie (Larry) Harris of Providence, and Lanny (Barbara) Smith of Rigby, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her sweetheart Charles Pulver, her parents Arv and Mildred Smith, daughter-in-law Margaret Pulver, grandson, Jon Pulver, siblings: Gordon Smith, Marva Harper, in-laws, Doris Smith, Dick Kiesel, Blaine Harper, Reid Pulver, Dot & Sterling Jones, and Jean & Margaret Pulver.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 12:00 Noon in the Fielding Stake Center (4375 W. 15600 N.- Fielding). A viewing will be held Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton), and prior to the funeral service at the church from 10:30- 11:30 a.m. Interment in the Fielding Cemetery.
