LaNoma Taylor

Tremonton - LaNoma Josie Hirschi Taylor, age 82 passed away September 11, 2013 at the Bear River Care Center in Tremonton, Utah. She was born August 29, 1931 in Tremonton, UT to Albert and Josie Hirschi. She was the sixth of seven children.

She grew up in Rosette, UT, a little town 5 miles west of Park Valley, UT. She received her education up to and including her sophomore year in Park Valley, then in Brigham City at Box Elder High for her Junior and Senior years.

She married Guy William Goodwin on September 4, 1952; they had one son, George Wendel Goodwin, born Oct 14, 1953. He died Oct 31, 1984 while serving in the Army. After she and Guy were divorced she married Blaine Able, he passed away. She then married George Taylor and they were later divorced.

She worked at various jobs throughout her life including Thiokol and Banking. LaNoma was talented in crocheting afghans, doilies and hot pads as well as dish cloths, which she gave to many of her friends and family members.

LaNoma has many nieces and nephews who she loved and they also loved her and looked out for her, also many cousins. Many thanks go to Kevin Hirschi, a nephew who she gave power of attorney. He took care of her affairs for many years. Thanks to all the staff and nurses at the Care Center in Tremonton, UT who took care of her and were very kind to her; also hospice who helped care for her in her final days, namely Heather and Holly.

LaNoma was preceded in death by her parents, son, husband, Blaine, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters, Curtis, Dee, Ledah, Helen and Betty. She is survived by one sister, Fern (Byron) Hunsaker, a brother in law, Earl Harris and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 12 Noon at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home Chapel (111 N 100 E – Tremonton)with a viewing held prior to the funeral from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. burial will follow in the Park Valley Cemetery.
