LaRene Braegger

February 8, 1925 — August 30, 2014


LaRene Mary Jenson Braegger, 89, passed peacefully from this life on 30 August 2014.

LaRene was born 8 February 1925, the youngest child of Ralph Ernest Jenson and Violet Estelle Nelson. She was raised on the family farm and lived in the same house most of her life. She married Roy Leo Braegger on 26 October 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple. They taught their seven children the value of hard work and that your word is your bond.

LaRene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many of the auxiliaries. LaRene valued her pioneer ancestry and was a 50 year member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She spearheaded the writing and publication of the history of “Bear River City” in 1992. She worked hard on the farm, and served 20 years at the IRS Service Center in Ogden. She cared for her mother for five years and her paralyzed husband during the last six years of his life. Later she served as secretary/treasurer of Acme Water Company and was a reading and math tutor at Century Elementary

LaRene is survived by six of her children: Karen (Byron) Bingham, Kathi (Albert) Richins, Ken (Kristy) Braegger, Sheryl (Alan) White, Marianna (Lonney) Broadus, Don Braegger, her daughter-in-law Susie Larsen, 26 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nedra, brothers Ralph Jr, and Lowell (Jack), her husband, Roy, and son Steven.

Friends may visit the evening Thursday, September 4th, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Bear River City LDS Church, 5870 N 4700 W, Bear River City, Utah. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5th, at 12:00 noon at the Bear River City LDS Chapel, with a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 am prior to services.
