LaRene Buttars

February 21, 1932 — February 14, 2013


Ogden – Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend passed away at her home with her family by her side on February 14, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer. LaRene was born on February 21, 1932 in Fielding, Utah to Glen Hyrum Udy and Thelma Bronson Kilburn. She married Larry M. Buttars on June 25, 1955. Together they had three children. They later divorced. She worked for the Bank of Utah and the State of Utah for 30 yrs., retiring in 1995. LaRene loved snowmobiling, outings at Bear Lake and family get-togethers. She was an excellent cook and was famous for her homemade chili and her LaRene mcmuffins. We will miss her keen wit and great sense of humor. She is survived by her son Dallas K (Jodie) Buttars of Layton and two daughters, Valerie Hammer of Washington Terrace, Marina Atwater of Cottage Grove, OR; Seven grandchildren, Six great-grandchildren and Four step grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers Lamar G Udy and Thayne Kilburn as well as two sisters, Barbara Winward and Jessie Franich. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday February 18, 2013 at Rogers & Taylor funeral home 111 N. 100 E. in Tremonton. The Family will greet guests from 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Fielding Cemetery. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of IHC Hospice for taking such great care of our mom and our family.
