Larry Gregory, 86 of East Tremonton, Utah, passed away February 12, 2024, at his home with his “Honey” Carol by his side.
Dad was born August 3, 1937, in Lewiston, Utah to Leslie A. & Pearl Luella Gregory. He was the middle child with Donald his older brother and Laurane his younger sister.
Dad grew up on a farm in Preston, Idaho and came to love horses more than dairy cows.
Dad met mom dragging main in Preston, Idaho. After dating a short time, they were married and sealed in the Logan Utah temple. Later came three girls, Sherry, Vickie, and Sandie. Lots of fun memories were made in this little family.
Dad was a hard worker and things had to be done at the highest standard.
He worked for Fife Rock Products, working his way up to plant manager.
Dad loved horses and rodeos. He started riding bucking broncs but soon found flying high into the air getting bucked off was not for him. He loved competing in horse shows and cow cutting. His biggest love was calf roping and team roping on the rodeo circuit all across Northern Utah and Southeastern Idaho, with his family in their single cab pick-up.
After an early retirement he started his horse-trading business and you would find him at the weekly auction looking for the best animals. He liked to see how low he could buy a horse for and bid with someone to find the highest price he could get in selling one.
When his health declined, he enjoyed “going for a ride” two or three times a day with mom.
He also loved the Jazz and would have a standing bet with his friend Reed on game days.
Dad was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He loved his girls and their husbands and was proud of his grandkids too.
Larry is Survived by his “Honey” Carol; daughters, Sherry (Mark) Hirschi, Vickie (Ricky) Hansen, Sandie (Ryan) Trapp; 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Les and Pearl Gregory and brother, Donald Gregory.
A special thanks to Primrose Home Healthcare & Hospice for your tender care and kindness.
