Roy - On Friday, August 9, 2013, surrounded by his family, Doug completed his earthly mission after his long fight with a terminal brain disease.
Doug was born in Providence, Utah to Lyman and Ruth Zollinger. He was raised in Thatcher, Utah, among his 5 brothers and sister. He graduated from Bear River High school and attended Utah Sate University. Doug served an LDS Mission to the Northern States. He married MarJean Dudman, the love of his life, in the Logan Temple on November 10, 1967.
Doug lived in many places throughout his life. They started their journey together farming in Tremonton, and farming eventually led them to Canada where they remained for 35 years. Midway through his time in Canada Doug became a financial planner with Canada Life Insurance. Doug lived the last years of his life in Roy, Utah.
Doug and MarJean are blessed with eight children and 20 grandchildren. Doug loved the Savior and followed His example by devoting his life to him through serving in different capacities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and also in the community. When Doug retired he found great joy in doing genealogy and temple work. He loved the beauty of nature: flowers, gardening, hiking and camping. He loved his family and lead an exemplar life in everything he did. Doug will be greatly missed!
