Penrose, UT – Lee Blaine McNeely, 76, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2011 at his residence in Penrose, UT. Blaine was born, May 20, 1935 to Cecil B. and Jennie Anderson McNeely in Thatcher, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Ruth Anderson, March 10, 1960, later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He graduated from Bear River High School where he excelled on the Bear River High Basketball team and after school joined the US Marine Corp in 1959. He and his wife built their life first in Bothwell and then finally in Penrose, UT. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and his passion was running a wholesale fur business. He worked at Thiokol for over twenty years. Blaine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served faithfully as the LDS Thatcher-Penrose 2nd Ward as a High Priest Quorum Group Leader. Surviving is his wife, his children: Rodney Lee of Weston, ID, Angela Marie McNeely Wildman of Pleasant View, Jeffery Todd of Penrose and Jason Lynn Port Orchard, WA; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren, brother, Lyle, Larry, Max McNeely and sister, Mrs. Dewayne “Clara” Harding. Preceding him in death are his parents and brothers Cecil B and Miles Leon McNeely and his sisters Mrs. Loren “Ilene” Shellabarger, Caroline McNeely Viewings will be held on Friday, December 16 at Rudd Funeral home from 6- 8 p.m. located at 1234 South Main in Garland and at the church from 11:30 – 12:30 pm. His funeral will be conducted Saturday, December 17 at 1pm at the Thatcher-Penrose LDS Ward Chapel, located at 11475 West 10400 North, with Bishop Lanny Lewis officiating. Interment followed at the Penrose Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, a special funeral account has been set up a Box Elder County Credit Union.
