Bear River City-Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, and Friend, Leland Sharon Anderson passed away Monday April 6, 2009 after a valiant fight with Parkinsons. He was born October 5, 1930 in Bear River City, Utah to Christian Hald and Mildred Mae Anderson. He married Karen Bennett on March 19, 1955 in Tremonton, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple on February 3, 1956. Leland was an active member of the LDS church. His first love was the scouting program. He was also a devoted Home Teacher. He graduated from Bear River High School. He served in the Air Force from 1950-1954. He also attended Weber State and BYU. Leland worked at Boeing Aircraft and retired from Thiokol after 34 years. He owned and operated a TV repair business and later operated Green Acres Nursery with his wife. Leland had a great love for the outdoors. He would spend winters tying flies to be used with his family in the Uintahs and Island Park. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Leland is survived by his loving wife Karen, caring children and spouses: Debbie (Steve) Morris, Kraig (Carol), Vickie (Dick) Thompson, Karen Lee (Joseph) Faust, 24 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren with two more on the way. He is also survived by his siblings: Ronald (Loris), ReNee Hansen, Wayne (Paula), Glade (Donna) and Suzanne (Errol) Bowcutt. He was preceded in death by his parents Christian Hald Anderson and Mildred Mae Anderson, and his son Kipp Anderson Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 11th at the Bear River City LDS Chapel. The viewing will be held Friday, April 10th 6:00-8:00 pm at Rudd Funeral Home located at 1234 So. Main, Garland, Utah and at the Church from 9:30-10:30 prior to the funeral. Interment will be held at Bear River Cemetery were military honors will be conducted.
