Honeyville, UT – Lois Hunsaker Tinney, 81, passed away on Saturday, June 30th 2012 at Ogden Regional Medical Center. She was born February 3, 1931 in Salt Lake City, UT to Wallace Abraham and Amy Burnham Hunsaker. After school she waitressed at several cafes in Brigham City. While working at the Ringside Café she became friends with several soldiers, who came in on leave. One soldier in particular caught her eye and introduced himself as Kenneth Tinney. She moved to California to be with two of her sisters. Kenneth followed her to California, and after finally convincing her, they married November 27, 1954. They later solemnized their marriage in the Los Angeles Temple. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She is survived by her husband, their four children: Donnell (Mike) Manzo, Richard Tinney, Amy (Tony) Chesler, and K. Murrel Tinney, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two sisters: Helen Holman and Carolyn (Bob) Smith, and two sisters-in-law: Frances and LaVerne Hunsaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Dean, Kenneth, and Lynn; sister Marjorie Elm, and grandson Phillip Tinney. Funeral services for Lois will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Honeyville LDS Chapel (2620 W. 6980 N. Honeyville, UT). Viewings will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 6-7:30 pm at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E. Tremonton, UT) and at the church prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m.
