Lora Johnson Bastian, 93, passed away on November 10, 2017 in Garland, Utah. She was born on July 24, 1924 in Vernal, Utah to Archie Albert and Ora Bell Perry Johnson.
Lora was raised in Vernal, and has also lived in Idaho Springs, Colorado, Evanston, Wyoming, and has spent the past 24 years in Garland, Utah.
She attended LDS Business College. While living in Salt Lake, she met and married Jay Golden Bastian. They were married on December 18, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Golden passed away on May 26, 1996.
Lora enjoyed gardening, crafts especially sewing and needlework. Her greatest desire in life was to serve others. This was shown through her love of being a wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family any chance she got.
She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings, and especially loved her mission with Golden to Dallas, Texas, and the time that she spent working in the Logan LDS Temple.
Lora is survived by her children: O’Neita Wallis, Deon (Ray) Manning, Ronald (Inella) Bastian, Roetta (Gary) Jones, Neil (Laura) Bastian, Kathleen (Brian) Turley, Kenneth (Suzie) Bastian, Jenalyn (Timothy) Rowley; 43 grandchildren; 101 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Donette, son-in-law James Duncan Wallis, three grandchildren, and one great grandson.
The family would like to thank Deon and Ray Manning for the loving care of our mother.
Funeral services for Lora will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. a viewing will be held prior to the service from 9- 10:30 a.m. All services will be held at the Garland Tabernacle (140 W. Factory). Interment will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery (300 South 3500 West Vernal, Utah 84078) on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1 p.m.
