Our kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather Lynn Jensen Iverson returned to
his heavenly home on November 27, 2015. He was welcomed into the arms of his eternal
companion Dorothy G. Iverson, as well as his parents, siblings and many more.
Dad was a man of unwavering faith and integrity. He was generous with his time and
will be remembered with a smile by all who knew him. He was a fun loving, dedicated, and
supportive husband and father. He was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and zest for
life. His life began in Bear River City on January 22, 1917, born to Orson A. Iverson & Hattie J.
Iverson. Dad was reared on a farm in the Evans Branch in Tremonton, Utah where he learned
to work and related many stories of his youth. Dad married Dorothy Green Iverson on
December 9, 1941, she passed away July 6, 2000 just short of 59 years of marriage. He
attended school in Tremonton, Utah and graduated from LDS Seminary and Bear River High
School where he served as class President.
Dad was a High Priest and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints. He completed an honorable mission from February 1937 through July 1939 laboring in
the Norwegian mission. Throughout his life he served diligently in many positions within the
LDS Church. Dad and Mom were snowbirds, and he helped organize the first snowbird branch
in Washington, UT in 1985 where he then served as first counselor. Dad served for 17 years in
the Young Mens Athletics Association as a zone leader covering the territory from Clearfield,
Utah, north to the Idaho state line. He also served on the Salt Lake Board of Young Men.
Service to others was how he lived his life. One of his most rewarding accomplishments
was the time spent as a volunteer fireman and EMT for the Tremonton Fire Department. In
December 1941 shortly after being married, he joined the Fire Department. He held many
positions in the organization and served as Fire Chief on two separate occasions. He was also
a member of the Utah State Fireman’s Association where he served as President. This past
June he was honored as the Grand Marshall for the State Firemen’s Parade and in 2011
received his 70 year pin. Dad served the City of Tremonton as the Secretary-Treasurer, and
later as a city councilman. He actively served in Tremonton’s Lions Club for 8 years completing
a one year term as President. He also received the Andy Rytting Award for his service to the
community of Tremonton.
A proud WWII veteran, he entered the service in April 1942 and reported for duty at the
Headquarters of the 9th Service Command, Fort Douglas, Utah. He later received training as a
pilot in the Army Air Corp. He received an Honorable discharge after almost 3 years of service
to his country.
Dad began working for the US Postal service in Tremonton in December 1940 and was
later appointed Post Master. He served as President of the Utah State Postmaster’s
Association and retired in 1978.

and Carma Sundstrom, brothers, Don and Ray. He is survived by his 4 children and spouses,
