Marcia LaBarge

January 14, 1939 — December 19, 2013

Marcia Loosli LaBarge returned to her Father in Heaven on December 19, 2013. She was born on January 14, 1939 to Edward Keith and Hortense Cutler Loosli of Salt Lake City, a middle child of six children. Her parents were her heroes, especially her father Keith whom she deeply admired for his spiritual devotion and integrity. When she was 15 years old she met her future husband, Norman LaBarge. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1960 by Spencer W. Kimball. They had six children and celebrated 53 wedding anniversaries together.

Marcia was known for her beautiful singing voice and shared that talent with others over the course of her life. She co-founded the Reflections in 1975, a women's choir that continues to this day. But Marcia was best known for her strong testimony of the gospel. She served faithfully in the LDS Church and loved meeting and getting to know people. She had a gift for loving others, for "mourning with those who mourn" and "comforting those who stand in need of comfort." She was an example of fervent striving and of enduring to the end.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Edward "Teddy" Loosli. She is survived by her husband and her children Cory (Maria) LaBarge, Blair (Evonne) LaBarge, Brett (Alyson) LaBarge, Alyssa Doutre, Nolan (Maribel) LaBarge, and Maralee (Nathan) Poulsen, 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Viewings will be held at Tremonton UT South Stake Center (1150 S. Tremont Street, Tremonton, UT) on December 27, 2013 from 6-8 pm and on December 28, 2013 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at the same location on December 28, 2013 from 1 pm – 2 pm, followed by interment at the Tremonton City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the LDS Missionary Fund.
