TREMONTON - Margaret Robinson Kitchen passed away Tuesday morning, July 7, 2015 surrounded by family at the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden.
Margaret was born Jan. 10, 1937 in Caliente, Nevada, picked her eternal companion Sherman in a cherry orchard and married him in the St. George Temple September, 9, 1955. She joins a son and grandchildren departed in infancy, several siblings, parents and friends.
The sound of children’s voices graced her life as she taught them their worth and led them through primary songs for several years. Her consistent service has blessed the lives of thousands through millions of needlepoint stitches, music, compassionate care, meals, assisting special needs children, community and church service. She has provided more than 6500 hours of volunteer service at the hospital in the past 17 years.
She actively served in several capacities in the LDS Church, among them: Full-time Missionary, Relief Society President, Counselor and Pianist; Primary Counselor and Teacher; and Chorister in both organizations and the ward.
Margaret worked as a professional seamstress, provided day care, custodial services, and food industry services.
Margaret loved owls and was a hoot to be around. She also enjoyed softball, golf, crafts and flowers.
She is survived by her husband Sherman N. Kitchen of Tremonton, and six children, Kris Anderson - Hayden Lake, ID, Kevin Kitchen - Richfield, Jodi Gowans - Vernon, Janice Dawson - West Haven, Kaylyn Pearson - Tooele, Jeff Kitchen - Nibley. She was preceded in death by son Jason Daryl Kitchen.
Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Tremonton 1st Ward LDS Chapel (166 N. Tremont St.) Viewings will be held Friday evening July 10, 2015, from 6-8 pm and Saturday from 9:00-10:30 am, both viewing will be held at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E. – Tremonton). Burial will take place at the Riverview Cemetery.
