Margie Roberts Austin passed away January 19, 2014, she was born in Blue Creek, UT on September 26, 1931 to Thomas Roberts and Hazel Anderson. She was the third of five children. She grew up in the Tremonton area. She was very smart in school and always believed in treating everyone with respect.

She graduated in 1949 from Bear River High School as a valedictorian of her class. Then attended BYU where she met Monte Austin, whom she married on September 2, 1955. Margie graduated from BYU in secretarial science with top honors. She worked as the secretary of BRHS for a few years after graduating, did bookkeeping and used her seamstress skills as a side business.

In 1957 she and Monte started a family and stayed home to raise her 8 children. She had 6 boys and 2 girls, all of whom served missions for the LDS church. All those children whom are married, were married in the LDS temple, which gave her great joy.

Margie spent many years serving in the Boy Scouts. In 1998 she was honored with the Silver Beaver Award.

In 2001 Margie and Monte served a mission for the LDS church at the historical sites in Palmyra, NY, where they met many eternal friends and wonderful people.

She also served as a temple worker in the Logan and Brigham City temples for 19 years. Margie enjoyed genealogy and completed temple work for many of her ancestors. She was an amazing woman who was very unselfish and giving to all she knew. We feel blessed to have been given the privilege of having her in our lives. You will be forever in our hearts.

Margie is survived by her sweetheart Monte Ray Austin and sister Donna Fae (Stanley) Stokes, and children David Austin, Clayton (Joy) Austin, Sherry (Warren) Walker, Mark (Haleigh) Austin, Tom (Luz) Austin, Wesley (Marianne) Austin, Blyth Austin, and Taralee (Mitch) Duffin, and 24 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton 3rd Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N. 100 E. in Tremonton from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery.
