Marilyn Petersen Simmons was born December 14, 1954 to Earl and Margaret Petersen in Tremonton, Utah, died November 16, 2011 in Elko, Nevada from medical complications. Marilyn married Michael Simmons in the Logan Utah Temple on June 6, 1980. She is survived by her husband Michael, son Lance (Molly) and their three children, daughter Stephanie (Dan), siblings Russell (Sharon), Carl (Lorna), John (Jan), Trish (Wendy), Scott, Neil (Jenny) preceded in death by her mother Margret, stepmother Gwen, brother Richard, and nieces Kelsey and Jami. She was dedicated to her family and community, taking an active role as a leader in the Boy Scout and Cub Scout programs, and enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, cross-stitching, and was an active participant in many humanitarian programs. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19th at 3210 Sagecrest. Viewing will start at 9:30am, with Memorial service following immediately after at 11am. A short viewing and service will also be held Monday, November 21st in Elwood, Utah at the Elwood LDS chapel 4865 W 9600 N at 11am.
