Maryann Brown Peterson,81, returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father August 26, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born December 5th, 1930 in Moore, Montana to Abraham Lenox Brown and Blanch Mae Long. She was the ninth of twelve children. She married Jay Russell Peterson on December 24th, 1947 in Zurich, Montana and together they had four children, Tonna, Cherie, Kim and Russ. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. Through the years Mom enjoyed many different hobbies. She played softball, bowled, loved gardening and dancing with Jay. She was a wonderful artist and her paintings are hanging proudly throughout their home. Mom was full of life and had made many friends over the years. Dad worked construction and our family lived in Montana, Colorado and have made their home in Utah for the past forty-two years. She is survived by her husband Jay, her four children, Tonna (Jeff) Bowcutt, Cherie (Paul) Bullock, Kimberly (Matt) Walker and Russ (Nancy) Peterson, 9 grandchildren including four special granddaughters Jami, Abbi, Shauna and Jenni and a special grandson, Dustin, along with sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two of her sisters, Nettie Jannausch and Nina Eggleston and their husbands. She also leaves behind Jay's loving family who all welcomed her as their sister when she was a teenager. Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings. We would like to thank Dr. Rod Merrell and his staff for their care of Mom through the years. We would also like to thank Azlyn and Raelyn of Intermountain Hospice for their care in her final hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at Wells Fargo Bank in Maryann’s name.
