Mavis Kotter

January 14, 1927 — March 15, 2022

Mavis Morrison Kotter, 95, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2022.  She was born on January 14th 1927, in Monroe Utah to Andrew (Bud) and Louise Simonsen Morrison.  She was the 4th of 6 children.  She has many fond and loving memories of her “growing up” years in Monroe.  Mom graduated from South Sevier High School and attended one year at BYU.  She married Ralph on April 21st, 1949 in the Manti Temple.  They moved their family to Tremonton in 1956, where they have been ever since.

Mom showed love and compassion to all those whom she had the privilege of serving and knowing. She was always baking treats, taking meals to those in need, and making delicious homemade Christmas candy for her family and friends for many years.

Mom and dad served in the Coventry England Mission 1985-1987 where they grew to love the English people and still have communication with some today.  They served in the Logan Temple together for 25 years. Mom loved to serve whomever she came in contact with and especially loved doing family history, where she made a book for each of her children and grandchildren.

She loved spending time with her family, especially at Thanksgiving where she and dad hosted it for many years. Family was their greatest blessing. Her best accomplishments were that of wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

She is survived by her children Dave (Jan) Kotter, Sally (Doug) Nelson, and Rich (Denise) Kotter. 13 grandchildren,48 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. A sister (Connie Rae) Parsons, Monroe Utah: a brother-in-law (Gilman Kotter), Nampa Idaho; and many nieces and nephews. She loved her family and was immensely proud of each and every one of them.

Mom was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Ralph, her beautiful daughter Dixie Lee Kotter, her parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Rogers & Taylors Funeral Home (111 N 100 E. Tremonton Utah) on Monday March 21, 2022, at 1:00 pm with a viewing prior from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.  Interment will be in the Tremonton-Riverview Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed below.
