May Jensen Allen died on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the age of 100. She was born May 17th, 1912 along with her identical twin sister, Mary. She and Mary were the 3rd and 4th of seven children, daughters of Jacob Charles Jensen and Mary Effie Smith. They were born in Brigham City, UT. May was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many organizations, but primarily in at least 4 different Relief Society Presidencies in the Tremonton 2nd Ward. She lived in Brigham City until she was 12. At that time, they moved to Salt Lake City. She graduated from East High School. She met Ferris Hunsaker Allen through friends of her sister, Effie. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 18, 1935. Eventually Ferris wanted to move back to Tremonton so that he could help his father with the farm. She was a charter member of the Tremonton Civic League and was a member for 29 years. She held everyone position in the organization at one time or another, including President. They started the children’s parade that is still held on the 24th of July, sold hamburgers at the Box Elder County Rodeo, bought playground equipment for the parks, and helped at the hospital during WWII. She also helped organize the Tremonton Dance Club that met in the 2nd ward cultural hall She was very supportive of Ferris in all of his callings in the church, and in working for the State Senate, and also the Farm Bureau. May and Ferris were the proud parents of 6 children: Dale (Karroll Bishop-both deceased), Dale later married Joann Korth Sorenson. Betty Mae-deseased (Jon Thompson), Jean (Charles Larsen), Don, Ross (Lynne Leatham) and Marie (Stephen Cruze-deceased). Marie is now married to Ronald Munns. They have 35 grandchildren, 100 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ferris, her parents as well as all her sisters and brother, her son Dale, and daughter Betty Mae. There will be a viewing Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Tremonton 2nd Ward LDS Church (300 South Tremont St.) from 6:30- 8:30 pm. The funeral will also be held at the Tremonton 2nd Ward Saturday, Feb. 2, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am and the funeral starting at 11:00 am.
