Melba Joy Anderson Winzeler, of Tremonton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Melba was born on March 1, 1927, in Malad, Idaho, to David and Mildred Anderson. She enjoyed growing up in Idaho and spending time with her three sisters, one brother, and many cousins. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1945.
Melba married Bill Winzeler on February 11, 1949. They settled in Tremonton, Utah, where they raised their two children, Lanell and Layne. She enjoyed working for the IRS for several years, where she made many friends. Melba was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Melba loved to cook and had many wonderful recipes. She loved to garden and especially enjoyed her roses. But above all else, her greatest joy in life came from her seven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Melba was blessed with a very generous heart and no one ever left her home without a thoughtful treasure. Melba celebrated her 90th birthday this past March surrounded by family and friends, whom she dearly loved.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Bill), sister (Faye), and brother (DeVerl). She is survived by her children, Lanell (Randy) Iverson and Layne (Kris) Winzeler. She is also survived by her sisters, Myrna (Keith) Christianson, and Francie (Roger) Forsberg, as well as many beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family is very grateful for the devoted care given to Melba by Kaylee and her staff at Integrity Hospice.
