SNOWVILLE- Merrell Arnold Hurd, 68, passed away at Ogden Regional Medical Center on April 14, 2015. He was born on May 11, 1946 at Cooley Memorial Hospital, in Brigham City, UT to Wallace Edmund and Leola Lorraine Hurd.
He has lived in Snowville for most of his life. He attended Bear River High School and graduated in 1964. After high school he served in the Utah National Guard. He worked at Thiokol as a Transportation Foreman. When he retired from Thiokol he took up farming and has been doing that and taking care of numerous animals ever since.
Merrell is survived by his five children, Bernie Jay (Jennifer) Hurd, Cindy Hurd, Justin Hurd, Ryan (Alyson) Hurd, Kelly (Dayna) Robertson; and 14 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Leola Lorraine; his father, Wallace Edmund Hurd; and two sisters, Lonnie Pingel and Jane Nobles.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Snowville Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Curlew LDS Chapel (75 N. 100 E.) in Snowville prior to the graveside.
