Merrill was born on March 9, 1935 to Samuel Roundy and Gladys Moss Roundy Bishop in Fielding, Utah. He quit school at the age of 16 when his father died so he could help his mother support the family.

Merrill married the love of his life Sandra Caldwell in Elko, Nevada on March 3, 1962. They were later sealed in the Logan, Utah temple in 1996.

Merrill retired from Farmers Grain as a semi driver where he worked for many years. He worked in the Bishopric for the Garland 1^st Ward for over 20 years which he loved dearly.

If Merrill was not in front of the window, you could always find him outside. He loved taking care of the lawn, fishing, hunting, and camping at the family’s property in Idaho. His greatest accomplishment was the legacy he created with the love of his life- his family.

Merrill is preceded in death by his daughter Sharline Gledhill; parents Samuel and Gladys; brothers LaDee and Leon Roundy; sister Marsha Rogers.

He leaves behind his wife Sandy; son LaVere; grandchildren Travis (Selena), Amanda, Brad (Amanda), Dani (Keith), Brittany (Kade); brother Ted (Debby) Roundy; many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 1 P.M. at the Fielding Cemetery.
