Metta Palmer

Bothwell- Metta Hale Palmer passed away peacefully in Tremonton, UT on Sunday August 18, 2013 with her family around her.
She was born February 12, 1924 in Oakley, Idaho to Loyal Sample Hale and Lila Marion Mooso. She lived in Bridge. Then she moved to Malta, ID, until her mother passed away then she moved back to Oakley, where she finished her education at Oakley High School.
She married Joseph Farrell Palmer on February 25, 1942 in Oakley, ID. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They moved to Mantua in 1944. While in Mantua, Farrell passed away on March 5, 1981. Metta then moved to Bothwell in September of 1987.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary, Relief Society, as a Visiting Teacher and as an Ogden Temple Worker.
Metta worked for J.C. Penney’s and Box Elder School District.
She is survived by four children: Katherine (Lee) Summers, Bothwell; Rachel (Dallas) Nelson, South Ogden; Jesse (Glenda) Palmer, Brigham City and Pamela Allred, Redmond. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren, with 4 more on the way.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers LaVell, Vernis and Ronald Hale, sister Rachel Gorringe, granddaughter Holly Beckstead and great grandchild Chet Summers.
Funeral services for Metta will be held on Friday August 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bothwell LDS Church (10350 W. 11600 N.). Viewings will be held on Thursday August 22, 2013 at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.) from 6-8 p.m. and at the church prior to the funeral from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
