Michael Leslie Brown, 61, passed away on January 22nd, 2023, in Clearfield, Utah, after a day with close friends.
Mike was born April 3rd, 1961, in Decatur, Illinois to Leslie & Lou Brown. Mike grew up in Decatur, Illinois. After completing high school, he went to college at Southern Illinois University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Mike had lived in Iowa and Minnesota before settling in Hooper, Utah.
Mike met the love of his life Dianne Gardner in the 1980’s. Mike and Dianne were married in Ogden, Utah during their lunch break at the courthouse. Mike worked as an Engineer in the Aerospace industry, and had recently retired just this last year.
Mike loved boating with his “Church of Willard” group every Sunday, listening to music, cooking, kayaking, fishing, doing crossword puzzles, and caring for his dogs. Mike also loved swimming. He held a state record for swimming in Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota.
Mike had such a witty, kind, and friendly personality. He will be missed by so many family and friends.
Mike was survived by his sisters Judy Redman, Barbara Limp, brother-in-law Gary (Merrilee) Gardner, sister-in-law Bonnie Issa, many nieces and nephews, and his dog Thor.
He is preceded in death by his sweetheart Dianne Gardner, parents Leslie and Lou Brown, Brother David Brown, and in laws J and Janice Gardner.
A graveside service will be held at the Deweyville Cemetery (UT-38, Deweyville, UT) at 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2023. A recording of the graveside will be uploaded within a few days following the service.
His sisters would like to send a special thanks to his friends who were with him the morning of his passing, The Gardner family, and Rudd Funeral home for all their help.
Following the graveside service there will be a luncheon at the Deweyville LDS Church.
