Plymouth- Mitchell J. Hess returned to his loving Father in Heaven on March 27, 2013. He was born on July 9, 1929 in Tremonton, Utah the son of Jess and Maude Hess. He married Beverly Peterson on January 23, 1951, in the Logan LDS Temple. He was member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed doing temple work. He also enjoyed farming and working as a Diesel Mechanic. He was the inventor of the Hinging Tongue which was known as Hess Chisel Plow. Later in life he bought his first Semi which became known as Grandma & Grandpa Trucking. During the past few years since the passing of his wife Beverly, he has enjoyed working on the farm with his Son-in-law Jeff Godfrey, spending time with his family, telling stories and spoiling grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his sisters Darlene Ipsen & Carma Josten, children Micheal F. Hess, Randy J. Hess, Janet Hess, Jeffery M. (Sharon) Hess, Julie (Jeff) Godfrey, Beverly Hess (Ira Walks), 43 grandchildren and 57 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly Peterson Hess, sister Norma Steed, Brother Lloyd Hess, grandson Jay J. Hess, granddaughter-in-law Tamara Maurie Hess, and great grandson Jeremy Nile Withers.
Graveside services will be held on Monday April 1, 2013 2:00 p.m. at the Plymouth Cemetery with full military honors.
