Nichole (Nikki) Shepherd Ouert
Tremonton, UT – 25, passed away on Feb. 12, 2014. Nikki was born on May 8, 1988 in West Jordon, UT to Robert (Robbie) and Delena Covington Shepherd. She is survived by her husband, Joshua Ouert, and her parents and siblings, Alexis Shepherd, and Joey Shepherd, as well as her grandparents, Dale and Gerri Shepherd, and Ardell and Joanie Covington, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A viewing will be held at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home (111 N 100 E) in Tremonton on Feb. 18, 2014 from 9:30 – 10:30 am, and the memorial service will be at 11 am. She will be laid to rest at the Dayton, Idaho cemetery immediately after, beside her recently departed brother “Garth.”
Nikki was a very sweet little girl growing up, and was a great sister and daughter. She loved her family very much, and told them often how much she loved them. She grew up in Logan and Tremonton, UT, and had numerous friends everywhere she ever went. She played competitive soccer for years as a youth, and was the best defensive player on the team. She always loved animals and children very much and was very good and kind to them. She went to Bear River High School, and then went on to Weber Basin Job Corp in Ogden UT, where she earned her high school diploma and completed her business tech and nurses aide certifications. Nikki was a friend to all, and was very outgoing and fun, and was the life of the party, and would brighten the room with her light. She had a very forgiving heart, and could never stay mad at anyone for very long. Nikki fell in love and married her sweetheart “Josh” on November 29, 2011. They tried to have children, but to their dismay, diabetes prevented Nikki from carrying her 4 babies to full term, and she unfortunately miscarried them all. Nikki was a member of the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter day Saints and had a great testimony and love for the gospel. She always took comfort in knowing that she would be with her family again one day in the afterlife, and now she is happily reunited with her brother and other loved ones that have passed on. Nikki will be greatly missed by those that she left behind, but we take comfort in knowing that we will all see her again soon.
Nikki was preceded in death by her brother: Garth Brooke Shepherd; her grandmothers: Gena Bullard, and Norlena Covington; and great Grandmothers: Betty Womack, Lola Shepherd, Nora Spendlove, and Lillian Covington; and her great grandfathers: Justin Covington, Elvin Shepherd, and Roland Spendlove.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the “Nichole Shepherd Ouert” funeral fund at Wells Fargo Bank to help cover funeral and medical expenses, and wish to thank family, friends, and the Tremonton 6th ward for their compassionate loving service and support in their time of need.
