Paul Douglas Davis, 83, passed away Dec. 11, 2012 in Tremonton, UT. He lived most of his life as a resident of Box Elder County. Paul was the youngest son of George H. and Amelia Taylor Davis. He had two brothers, George and Donald, and a sister, Mary Jane. Each one of these four siblings served in the military and their parents were very proud of them. Paul served in the Army and was a gunnery sergeant. Paul married Shirle Mae Henrie Dec. 19, 1950 in the Idaho Falls Temple; they lived in Florida on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Ranch where he operated heavy equipment. He graduated from Utah State University with his BA in Engineering. Paul & Shirle settled their young family in Brigham City after a brief time in California. Paul was a senior Cost Analyst for Thiokol. He traveled and was instrumental in negotiations with the government to make the “Space Shuttle” a reality. He later moved his family to the old Davis home on factory Street in Garland. This is where Paul grew up, roamed the streets and raised a little ruckus on his Harley. Paul then built the beautiful home in Tremonton and in 1980 lost his wife Shirle. He soon married Carmen and they made a new life together. They loved to garden and beautify their home and grounds together. Paul loved to ride motorcycles, snowmobiles, 4-wheelers and 18 wheelers, along with hunting, fishing, boating, and waterskiing. He was a lifetime member of the LDS Church where he served for many years. His favorite was serving with the young men 12-18 in scouting. Paul was preceded in death by his young son, James; daughter, Jill; wife Shirle; and most recently his sweetheart, Carmen. He is survived by his older brother, George; children, Jayna Powers, Scott Davis, Sid (Karen) Davis, Kathy (Kyle) Jacobson, and Mark Hyatt; 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers & Hospice workers at “Our House” especially Misty, Kathy, Gabby & Jordan. Paul had many neighbors, friends and members of the Tremonton 4th ward that have been a huge support to him; their service has been greatly appreciated.
