Pauline Iola Koen, age 92, peacefully passed away in her home in Portage, Utah, on September 10, 2024. She was born on July 30, 1932, in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado, to Arthur and Elsie Gui.
Pauline dedicated many years of her life to education, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Sonoma State University. She passionately taught in Napa, California, for 27 years, leaving a lasting impact on her students and the community before retiring from the Napa California Unified School District.
An avid reader and lover of nature, Pauline found joy in hiking and exploring the beauty around her. However, her greatest treasure was the time spent with her beloved family.
As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she carried her faith with grace throughout her life.
Pauline is lovingly remembered by her sons, Mike (Cindy) and Dave (Doe), along with her 13 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her legacy of love and commitment to family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
