Peggy Sue Erickson Speas (May 28, 1958 – October 7, 2011) beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and daughter passed away on October 7th, 2011. Peggy is the daughter of Wallace and Diane Erikson and the wife of Kyle Speas. She was received with open arms by her son Daniel and her beloved grandmother, Sofea Elizabeth Erickson. Peggy was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions throughout her life. She is remembered for her many years of service in the Primary and Young Women’s organizations. She loved teaching children and watching them learn and grow. She touched the lives of everyone that she served. The joy and love of her life was her family, she was their most avid cheerleader. She loved supporting them in all their activities. When she was not a full time mother, she taught elementary school. In her free time she played volleyball, attend her children’s extracurricular activities, and exercised to stay fit. Peggy valiantly fought against Ovarian Cancer for almost 4 years. In her battle she has taught many people with her kindness, faith and with her pure love of the Savior. Her wonderful and loving husband took care of her until the very end. She had four children and one extremely loved grandchild. Peggy will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Peggy is survived by her loving husband Kyle; parents, Wallace and Diane Erickson; her children, Jeremy (Tasha), Ben (Alex), Elizabeth (Connor) Morrell, and Emily; one Granddaughter, Alivia Speas. There will be a viewing held at the Thatcher-Penrose Church from 6-8 PM on Wednesday October 12th and also Thursday October 13th from 9:30-10:30 AM. The funeral will also be held on Thursday October 13th at 11:00 AM at the Thatcher Penrose church. She will be interred in the Bothwell Cemetery.
