Rhea Fuhriman

LOGAN—Rhea Wood Christensen Fuhriman, 97, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home Tuesday, October 19, 2010. She was born July 28, 1913 in Fielding, Utah, the daughter of George Franklin and Maggie Richards Wood. She married James Peter Christensen on April 18, 1935 in the Logan LDS Temple. J.P. passed away in 1962. She married Albert Gustave Fuhriman on December 4, 1967 and he passed away in 1982. Rhea was raised in Fielding and graduated from Bear River High School as the valedictorian. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a Family History mission in Salt Lake City in addition to various church callings. Her greatest possessions were her testimony and her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by seven children, Dr. J Clayde (Ellen) Christensen of Taylorsville, Dr. Mahlon Frank (Melinda) Christensen of Bremerton, Washington, Warren James (Sharon) Christensen of Salt Lake, Bruce Parley PhD (Lee Ann) Christensen of North Ogden, Jay Volare (Bonnie) Christensen of South Ogden, Boyd Wood (Kathy) Christensen of Phoenix, Arizona and Margaret (T Kay) Smith of Logan; 52 grandchildren, 135 great-grandchildren, and 9 great, great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Stokes of Tremonton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one daughter, Marilyn, three sisters, Isabell, Blanch, and Opal, and three brothers, Ray, Glen and MJ. Funeral services will be held at the Fielding Stake Center, 4375 W. 15600 N., East Garland, on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. Friends may call from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment at Fielding Cemetery.
