R.J. Rucker (Richard James) passed away at age 72 on February 15, 2022 in Beaver Dam, Utah. He was born December 16, 1949 in Tremonton, Utah to Richard W. Rucker and Lily Ann Palmer. He married Nancy Manning Rucker on January 16, 1976 in the Logan, Utah Temple. He lived in Tremonton, Utah; Dayton, Idaho; Rupert, Idaho; Malad, Idaho; Elwood, Utah; and Beaver Dam, Utah. He attended and graduated from Bear River High School and attended Stevens-Henager Business College and Utah State University.
R.J. was an Entrepreneur from his youth and worked as a Fertilizer and Soil Consultant. Some of his endeavors included Rucker Soil Service, Ornamental Popcorn Company and Country Lazer. He was involved in scouting for over 40 years and received many scouting awards including the Silver Beaver award.
R.J. was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a full time mission in the England Bristol Mission. He held many callings including Branch President for the Bear River Valley (Cambodian) Branch and many many scout callings to name a few. His testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ never wavered from the days of his youth.
R.J. is survived by his wife, Nancy M. Rucker; children, David (DR) Rucker, Theresa Rucker (Steve Lund), Vida (Nathan) Moss, Rachel (Jim) Roberts, Kandis Rucker, Jaymes (Krystal) Rucker, Lizzy (Jacob) McLain; fifteen grandchildren and three great-granddaughters; siblings, Maryann Richardson, Margie McCoy, Bonnie Hutchison, Don Rucker, and Olive Polete.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard W. Rucker and Lily Ann Palmer, Vern Hansen, David and Marjorie Manning and bonus parents Raymond and Lily Hansen.
All services will be held at the Beaver Dam Church (16025 N Beaver Dam Rd Beaver Dam, UT). Services will be held on Saturday February 26, 2022 at Noon with a viewing held on Friday February 25, 2022 from 6 – 8 pm and prior to the funeral from 10 – 11:30 am. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed below.
Interment will take place at the Beaver Dam Cemetery.
