February 15, 1958 — June 8, 2023

Rodney Marvin Ashby (65) quietly passed away on June 8th 2023, after a long fight with early onset dementia.

Rod was born to Marvin and Yvonne Ashby in Tremonton, Utah.  He worked on the family farm growing up, and traveled with his family band. He graduated from Bear River Highschool, then served an LDS mission to Leeds, England.  While attending USU he met and married Rozanne Rallison in the Logan Temple. They had four children and will have been married forty years in October.

Rod was a Lifelong Entrepreneur, Dedicated Community Member, and Loving Family Man.

He was a prominent member of the community, and left behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend, as well as a successful entrepreneur and a passionate supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.

Born and raised with a strong work ethic, Rod was never afraid to face a challenge head-on which led him to various ventures around the world. Throughout his life, he demonstrated an unwavering determination to achieve his goals and make a difference to the lives of all those he met.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Rod had a diverse range of interests and hobbies. He had a remarkable talent for creating and building machines, with a particular fondness for constructing go carts. His love for music led him to become an accomplished drummer and guitarist, finding joy and solace in the rhythm of his instruments. This love for music led him to many events around the area where he shared various musical talents

Rod has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his whole life. He has held many different roles in his Stake, but especially valued his time spent with the youth.

However, Rod's greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife and a caring father to his three sons and one daughter. Family gatherings were filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Rod's generosity knew no bounds, always willing to lend a helping hand and support those in need. His charitable nature and willingness to give back to his community were a testament to his character and compassion.

Rod’s absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, resilience, and selflessness will continue to inspire and uplift others. Though he may be gone, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he so dearly cherished.
