Rodney Ferris MacFarlane passed away on May. 4th in the home that he built, after a long battle with Depression and other health problems associated with Lewy Body Dementia. He is survived by His wife, Sue Ellen Macfarlane, his children. Bobbie Sue and her husband Gene, Nathan and his wife Whitney, Heath and his wife Tauni, and Nevin and his wife Anna Shae. He was blessed with 11 beautiful grandchildren who were a bright light in the darkness.
Rodney was born in Tremonton, on Sept. 16th in 1959, to his parents Ferris & Arlene Macfarlane. He was raised right here in Riverside with his sister Judy Newman and His brother Terry Macfarlane, and later made his home right around the corner. He met his wife of 39 years, Sue Ellen Erickson, in January of 1983 on a blind date. They were engaged just two months later and were married and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 2nd.
Rodney opened his own welding business in 1987. He often donated projects to the local FFA and parks and was a blessing to the community. He retired from welding in 2014 due to declining health. Rodney served as the executive secretary for the Bishopric for a time and was a scout leader for the 11 year old scouts for many years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ferris Macfarlane and grandson Nash Nevin Macfarlane.

A graveside will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Noon at the Riverside Cemetery.
