Wynn Scott Hansen

April 1, 1934 — July 16, 2024

Wynn Scott Hansen, a devoted family man, a distinguished United States Air Force veteran, a dedicated community member, and a faithful church servant, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on July 16, 2024.

Born in Logan, Utah, on April 1, 1934, Scott was the son of Wynn Snow Hansen and Blanche Haws Hansen. He attended Bear River High School, where he excelled academically. Scott continued his post-secondary schooling at Utah State University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Husbandry. He also received a Master's degree in Aerospace Management from the University of Southern California. Scott enlisted in the Air Force and quickly discovered his passion for aviation. He embarked on a lifelong journey of service to his country. He was stationed in various locations throughout his career, demonstrating exemplary courage and dedication.

Scott's commitment to service extended beyond his military duties. After retiring from the Air Force as a decorated veteran, he served in many community capacities, including as president of UTA and county commissioner for Box Elder County, advocating for initiatives that improved the lives of residents.

Scott was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully for many years. His devotion to his faith was evident in his compassionate outreach to others and service in various church callings.

Scott was a loving husband to his beloved wife, Beverly, for 53 years until her passing in 2007. Together, they raised six children, Vicki Hansen, Michelle Woods, Jacquelyn Newman, Debra Hansen, Steven Hansen, and Heather Martin, instilling in them the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion. Later in life, he married Betty Allen Oberg. They shared many happy years together.

Scott was so proud of the legacy of his family's sheep ranch, where he grew up and returned later in life. Some of his fondest memories came from working with his dad and other ranch hands. Scott enjoyed sharing stories about the ranch and his military experiences with friends and family. He will be remembered for his unwavering patriotism, hard work, and steadfast commitment to his family, faith, and community. He leaves behind a legacy of service and sacrifice that will be cherished by all who knew him.

He is survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends and relatives who will miss him dearly. Wynn Scott Hansen's legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of those he touched throughout his remarkable life.
