Scott Clarence Mitton

Scott Clarence Mitton, age 78, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, in Ogden, Utah. He was born on July 12, 1946, in Preston, Idaho, to Lawrence Mitton and Jesse Cresall.

Scott graduated from Preston High School in 1964. He married Phyllis Mitton on January 22, 2020, in Burley, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Brigham City temple. Together they shared many cherished moments. They resided in Tremonton.

A dedicated professional, Scott had a diverse career as a truck driver, auctioneer, and barber, spending most of his life happily working for himself in the barbering trade until his recent retirement. His commitment to community was reflected in his role as President of the local Future Farmers of America (FFA) and as a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Additionally, he proudly served in the Army Reserves.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; his children, with his previous wife Sharon Dalton, Laurie, Rick (Jennie), Mike (Deina), and Melanie (Jasen); his grandchildren, Carson, McKenzie, Kassidy, Quinsee, Rykker, Braydn, McKade, Josse, Jesse, Kash, Lainee, Heeley, and Case. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Ann, and brother Boyd.

Funeral services to honor Scott’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11 A.M., with a viewing held prior from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. All services will be held at the Bothwell LDS Chapel (10350 W 11600 N- Tremonton). Interment will follow, with military honors, at the Logan City Cemetery. Scott's legacy of hard work, dedication to his family, and his warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
