Tremonton- Our Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother Scott Arlen Ravsten returned to his Heavenly Father’s arms on December 13, 2014. He began his journey on earth on September 10, 1930 in Clarkston, Utah and was the oldest son of Lester and Leah Ravsten. He was the big brother to Judd, Tip, Joe and Danny.
He met his sweetheart LaReeda Campbell Ravsten on a blind date where they attended a dance. They were married in Preston, Idaho on July 6, 1949. Through their 63 years of marriage they were blessed with seven children. They made their home and raised their family in Smithfield, Utah, Ogden, Utah, Yakima, Washington and Tremonton, Utah. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on July 6, 2001.
Scott was an avid fisherman. He loved catching and sharing his trophies with his family, friends and neighbors. He worked for Swifts & Company in Ogden, UT and Yakima, WA and ATK (Morton/Thiokol), where he retired from in 1993. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he and sweetheart, LaReeda enjoyed serving in Primary and helping cook for many church activities. He also enjoyed serving as a scout leader.
Scott is survived by his children: Kelly & Avis Ravsten of Duvall, WA; Kevin Joe Ravsten of West Seattle, WA; Susan & Kent Miller of Riverside, UT; Shelly & Edward Tarbet of Plymouth, UT; and Shawna & Troy Harris of Layton, UT; son-in-law Michael Doutre of Harrisville, UT and daughter-in-law Wendy Ravsten of Brigham City, UT; 20 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his wonderful brothers and their wives: Tip & Lola Ravsten and Danny & Carol Ravsten all of Tremonton, UT; sisters-in-law Helen Ravsten of Malad, ID; Beeper Marble of Tremonton, UT and Kathy Ravsten of Clarkston, UT.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife LaReeda, parents Lester and Leah, daughter Shirley Ann Doutre, son Kurtiss Scott Ravsten, grandson Clifford Reed Doutre, and also his two brothers Larry (Judd) and Joe.
He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, December 18th from 6-8 p.m. at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E., Tremonton, UT) and from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 19th at the Tremonton South Stake Center (1150 S. Tremont St.). Funeral Services will start at 11:00 a.m.
