Seymour “Blaine” Hill, 83, passed away at his home in Klamath Falls, Oregon, of Congenital Heart Disease. He was born June 22, 1932, in Tremonton, Utah, the third child of Seymour William Hill and Lydia Andrea Romer Hill. He graduated from Bear River High School and attended Utah State Agricultural College.
Blaine married Charmane Cutler, June 30, 1952 in the Logan Utah Temple, later divorced. They had 3 children; Bart, Janalee and Dawn. On June 16, 1971, he married Charlene Woodruff in the Logan Utah Temple, and welcomed her three children into his family; Tim, Kelly and Julie. Later came Bryan, Heidi and James.
Blaine was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities including several bishoprics. He was a faithful home teacher and enjoyed working in the Portland and Medford Oregon Temples. Blaine was involved in farming and worked many years for Cliff McMurdie. He also worked for the Sugar Factory and IFA. He later moved to the Washington/Oregon area where he installed and serviced dairy equipment for over 30 years. Horses were always a part of Blaine's life. He enjoyed planting, caring for and harvesting his beautiful garden.
Surviving are his wife Charlene; nine children; Bart (Gwen) Hill, Janalee (Steve) Petty, Dawn (Kirk) Menlove, William Timothy (Marlene Cousens) Hill, Kelly (Karen) Hill, Julie (Dane) Bowen, Bryan Hill, Heidi (Walter) Schulz, and James Hill; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; siblings Lola Coombs, Beverly (Odean) Estep and Bernard (LaPrele) Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Shanna Hill and Roma Jean Bourne, and one grandchild; Christopher Hill.
A memorial will be held at the LDS Klamath Falls Oregon Stake Center, on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at 1 pm. An additional memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11 am at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East in Tremonton, Utah. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Elwood Cemetery.
