Sherlene Lott

April 25, 1939 — July 11, 2011

Thatcher – Sherlene Bowcutt Lott slipped peacefully from this life surrounded by her husband and six children at her home on July 11, 2011. She is now at peace and free from the pains she had to bear from illness for the past several years. She was born in Tremonton, UT on April 25, 1939 to William Stanley and June Udy Bowcutt. She spent her years growing up in Ogden and Tremonton. It was when her family returned to Tremonton that she met the love of her life, Blaine Lott, through a random act of throwing tomatoes and he became her high school sweetheart. They were married on February 19, 1958 in Tremonton, UT. They later solemnized their marriage on June 4, 1965 in the Logan LDS Temple. Shortly after their marriage, Blaine and Sherlene moved to Thatcher, UT which would become her home for the rest of her life. She was mother to six children: Michael (Tammy) Lott of Brigham City; Reid (Julie) Lott of Willard; Sheri (Mike) Garrett of Tremonton; Susan (Lynn) Reeder of Wellsville, Gregory (Heather) Lott of Penrose; and Christine (Mitch) Hess of Las Vegas, NV. Next to her dear Sweetheart, her children were the most cherished treasures in her life. Sherlene was a faithful daughter of our Heavenly Father and served in many capacities within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. Her favorite calling was Primary where she loved to teach the young children. She also enjoyed being a member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was always thankful for any act of kindness others would show unto her, especially the kind people of Thatcher-Penrose who showed so much love and concern for her. She enjoyed riding with Dad in the mountains to see the beauties of nature. She loved listening to Dad’s hunting tales. Her other hobby was her photos; you could always count on her having a camera in her purse. Mom and Dad are a beautiful example of love and devotion. Their love is eternal and this separation will be but for a moment. Sherlene is also survived by her three dear sisters, who filled her life with laughter. Judy (Claire) Bowcutt of Tremonton, Mary Ellen (Larry) Butler of Garland, and Nancy (Roger) Holcomb of North Ogden. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dennis Bowcutt. She has 22 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren with more on the way. Funeral services will be held on Friday July 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Thatcher-Penrose LDS Chapel, located at 11475 West 10400 North, Thatcher, UT. A viewing will be held on Thursday July 14, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, and from 9:00 - 10:30 AM on Friday July 15, 2011 at the Thatcher-Penrose meeting house. Interment will be in the Bothwell Valley View Cemetery.
