Sherman Earl

Fielding, UT - Sherman D Earl, 84, passed away on July 11th, 2012 at his home after a lingering illness. He was born on April 19th, 1928 to Charles Leo & Cynthia Durfey Earl in Fielding, Utah. He had lived a full life. He experienced many things that made him the man he was. Sherman was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many various callings within the church. He married Charlene Brough on June 9th, 1948 in the Logan Temple. Together they raised five beautiful children. He credits the children’s great upbringing to the community and hard work. They have 24 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren with three more on the way. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always happy when they stopped by to visit. He loved to give hugs and was always quick to tell everyone he loved them. He was a comforter and counsel to his children and a loving and supportive husband to his wife. Sherman was a very social man and loved to be around people. He enjoyed his morning chats and “Pepsis” with friends in various locations. He and Charlene spent many wonderful winters in Mesa, Arizona making many great friends. He always had a story and an opinion and loved to share both. He served in Germany at the end of WWII and later was called to serve during the Korean conflict. He served as a MP. He was very proud of his military service. Farming was his chosen occupation and he loved it. He loved a good horse, a good dog, hard work and all things surrounding them. He was an original member of the Plymouth Roping Club. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles & Cynthia Earl,in-laws: Clarence & Vadis Brough, all his siblings, brother: Charles Leo Earl, sisters: Oramae Reed, Connie Sorensen and Madge Anderson, son-in-law: DeVerl Anger, great granddaughter: Lindsey Holland and grandson: Tate Earl Anger. He leaves behind his wife, Charlene, his children: Chuck (Marta) Earl, Fielding, David (Joni) Earl, Beaver Dam, Charla (Paul) Jensen, Logan, Denise (Mike) Petersen, Fielding, and Bret (Tami) Earl, Fielding. He also leaves a wonderful posterity who will love him forever. A viewing will be held Sunday, July 15th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Fielding Stake Center 4375 W 15600 N, Fielding, and July 16th from 9:30 to 10:30 followed by funeral services at 11:00am. Interment at the Fielding cemetery with full military honors.
