Sherry VanCamp

November 20, 1940 — July 6, 2012

Sherron LaRene Napoli VanCamp Tremonton – Sherry VanCamp, 71, died July 6, 2012, of heart failure. She was born November 20, 1940, in Tremonton, UT; the oldest of six children of George & LaRene Richins Napoli. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1959, and attended Weber College. She began her career at the IRS in 1966, after 32 years, retiring in 1998 in upper-level management. She made many good friends during these years, and many have said, “Once her friend, you were always a friend for life.” Sherry was a gifted, creative person & artist. She was a meticulous record keeper, and loved her family’s history & genealogy, reading, babies & children, and the beauty of all things in nature. She was always interested in current events, politics, and the things that affected the lives of the people she loved. She was the first one to wish you a happy birthday, or congrads on an achievement. She was proud and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she held many callings over the years. A noble & valiant servant of the Lord, and devoted follower of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She appreciated the services of the Visiting & Home Teachers. Above all else, Sherry loved all of her family. She was proud of her daughter, grandchildren, her siblings & their spouses, and all of their posterity. She was a grandmother to all. Her presence in this life on earth will be greatly missed. Sherry is survived by her daughter, Christy Leigh VanCamp Wood Mason, Tremonton, Her grandchildren, Jade O. (Breann) Wood, No. Ogden; Brayden L. (Pattie) Wood, Malad, ID; Garet L. (Ashley) Wood, Garland; and Shayli M. Wood, Tremonton. One great-grandchild, Gianni, Logan; and three new great-grandbabies coming the last part of 2012. We know gramma is loving those babies now…it was her last words in mortal life. Also surviving, are her siblings, Kathy (Jess) Perez, Clearfield; Bob (Becky) Napoli, No. Ogden; Marilee (Chet) Peterson, No. SLC ; Denise (Kevin) John, Riverside, & Lori (Bob) Culver, Smithfield. A special friend, Ranae Gerber, Layton; as well as all of her other life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, & many great-aunts & uncles, in which she took care of many in their last days. At Sherry’s request, there will not be a formal viewing, but a gathering of loved ones, Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 1:00 pm, at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 East N. 100 E., in Tremonton, for a short memorial, prior to her burial at Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
