Sovann Samuth

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sovann Samuth, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in Tremonton, Utah. 

Sovann Samuth was born on August 6, 1957, in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and later came to the United States as a refugee. Despite the challenges he faced, he quickly fell in love with his new home and became a proud and devoted patriot. He embraced the opportunities that America offered, building a life full of love, hard work, and dedication. 

His greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband to Samorn Samuth and a proud father to his four sons and two daughters: Sarana Samuth, Tommy Samuth, Sopal Oum, Sovandara Samuth, and Sina Samuth. He will be reunited in heaven with his daughter, Veasna Samuth. His grandchildren brought him endless happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with them. 

In October 2023, Sovann was diagnosed with lung cancer. Though he fought bravely, his greatest concern was always for the well-being of his family. His strength, courage, and love were evident throughout his battle, and he remained an incredible example of resilience and devotion to the end. 

Sovann Samuth will be remembered for his big heart, his unwavering love for his family, and his commitment to his adopted country. He touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Samorn Samuth; his four sons, Sarana Samuth, Tommy Samuth, Sopal Oum, and Sovandara Oum; his daughter, Sina Samuth; and his grandchildren, along with countless other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. 

Sovann's family will meet with family and friends on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 5-6 P.M. and on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 1-1:45 P.M. Services will take place Saturday from 1:45-2:45 P.M. All services will be held at Rudd Funeral Home- Tremonton (111 N 100 E- Tremonton). Interment will begin at 3 P.M. at the Tremonton Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend to celebrate his life and pay their respects.
