Sun Kheav

Sun Kheav transitioned on October 19th, 2023 at the age of 88 in Syracuse, Utah. He passed away at his home surrounded by loving family members after a battle with lung cancer.

Sun was born on January 1st, 1935 in the province of Kampong Speu Cambodia to Prom Kheav and Kong Tep. In 1957 he married his eventual lifelong partner Heang Sim. They had 3 kids together. Two boys, Soeun and Soeuth, and their daughter Heang. He enjoyed fishing, and spending time with family and friends, hardly ever missing an opportunity to have a good time and celebrate life. In his later years, you would often find him laughing with his grandchildren, or playing chess at the local park with the custom pieces he carved by hand.

He was a man of valor, bravely leading his family of 5 and many other extended family members in 1984 through genocide and a war-stricken' Cambodia in order to have the opportunity for a better life in America. Sun's impact has been felt through many generations of families, which is why he is revered by many. For this reason, his spirit will continue to live on inside of us all.

He is survived by his wife Heang Sim, children Soeun, Soeuth, Heang and Michael, and 6 grandchildren Jalei, Brandon, Ethan, Niah, Lauren, and Danny.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 6-8 P.M.  Friends and family may gather for a service on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 1-1:45 P.M. The service will go from 1:45- 2:45 P.M. All services will be held at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton, UT 84337) Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery will follow the service at 3 P.M.
