Susan Pugsley

Elwood - Susie Pugsley, 63, passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 14, 2016, after a courageous two-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Susie was born on January 21, 1953 in Tremonton, Utah to LeRoy and Eileen Roberts. She was raised in Tremonton and attended Bear River High School, where she met the love of her life, David Pugsley. They were married in the Logan, Utah Temple on March 24, 1972.

Susie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and devoted much of her life to the service of her God and her fellow man. She served in various capacities throughout her years, and she especially cherished her time spent serving as an ordinance worker in the Logan Utah Temple and in the recorder’s office of the Brigham City Utah Temple.

She worked in the title industry for nearly 40 years, and was the owner of Box Elder Land Title Insurance Agency. Through this she developed many life-long friendships. She was known for her honesty, integrity, and the professionalism of her work. She served as the President of the Bear River Valley Chamber of Commerce, and was actively involved in the civic and political landscape of her community.

Susie loved to help and lift others. Throughout her life, and even during her difficult battle with cancer, she still found ways to serve and love those around her. Her optimistic approach and contagious smile blessed the lives of all she knew. In her last year, she especially enjoyed baking bread and sharing it with her neighbors, family, and friends.

Above all else, Susie’s greatest joy in life was being a grandmother. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, who each knew how much their grandma loved them and thoroughly enjoyed the time they shared and the memories they created with her.

Susie is survived by her mother, Eileen Roberts, husband, David, son Tyler (Aubrey) Pugsley, son Ryan (Crystal) Pugsley, grandchildren Braden, Kassidy, Hunter, Houston, Marisa, Gemma, and Isabelle, and siblings, Caroline (Alvin) Christensen, Betty (Steve) Dyreng, Denis (Sandra) Roberts, and Donna (Leonard) Andrews.

She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Roberts, and granddaughter Hailey Pugsley.

A special thanks to all friends, family, and professionals who cared for Susie during these last two years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, at 11:00 am at the Elwood 1st and 2nd Ward Chapel (4865 W 9600 N Elwood, UT, 84337). Viewings will be held on Thursday, March 17th from 6-8 pm at the Elwood 1st and 2nd Ward Chapel, and Friday March 18 from 9:00-10:30 at the church prior to the funeral. Interment in the Elwood Town Cemetery.
